How I work and what I'm looking for next
CAREER SUMMARY
I have spent a decade designing for environments where the backend is genuinely complicated: payment rails, vehicle diagnostic protocols, live trading data. And the job is to make that complexity disappear for the person using it, without pretending it is not there.
I led the creation of the product's first comprehensive design system, built from the ground up as the foundation for a cohesive, scalable experience across the mobile app and the web - not a one-off deliverable for a single redesign.
Ten years in - three industries deep
Today I am a Senior Product Designer at Ingenico, leading UX on a global payments platform serving thousands of merchants worldwide, inside a design organisation of 9 designers and 12 product managers. I am the sole designer on a new Developer Portal, and I design the Merchant Portal experience and a cross-platform e-signature service. I designed the platform's Reporting product.
Before that I was Lead Product Designer at Carista, leading UX/UI for a mobile app with 1M+ active users that connects to OBD-II hardware to diagnose, customise and maintain vehicles across major car brands. I built its first design system, around 100 components covering the entire mobile app, governed the parallel web library delivered by an external agency. Led a full visual rebrand, and shipped the SFD feature that unlocked diagnostics on protected Volkswagen, Audi, Seat and Škoda vehicles.
Earlier - five years at ActivTrades designing for a global online trading platform taught me how to navigate large-scale, multi-stakeholder projects, the foundation for everything senior that followed.
MY PROCESS
I mentor junior designers on craft and process: reviewing their work, onboarding them to the product and helping them build the judgment to work independently on their own features.
I mentor, and I make it part of the job
I work across departments, not just within my team
I work closely with designers on other feature teams, sharing critique and coordinating on shared patterns so the product stays coherent beyond any one team's scope. Outside the design team: with marketing, sales, support and external partners where the work demands it.
I initiate design initiatives for the team
I propose and develop team-wide initiatives: new working practices, tooling, process improvements. And follow them through to adoption across the wider design organisation rather than leaving them as suggestions.
I follow projects through, past launch
I do not hand off at delivery. I track how features actually perform once live, introduce post-launch design feedback loops, and drive the next iteration from real usage rather than the original assumption.
I raise the difficult conversations early
I initiate discussions with solution architects and product managers on my domain topics, pushing for changes to underlying data structures and platform behaviour where they unblock a materially better user experience. Rather than designing around a constraint that should be challenged.
MY CAPABILITIES
DESIGN
UX/UI design, design systems, information architecture, interaction design, prototyping, accessibility (WCAG).
RESEARCH
User interviews, diary studies, surveys, usability testing, personas and journeys, competitive audits, data-informed design.
LEADERSHIP
Stakeholder management, mentoring, cross-functional facilitation, design-to-dev handoff, agency direction.
TOOLS
Figma (expert), Illustrator, Photoshop, HTML/CSS, Firebase, AI-assisted design workflows.
WHAT I’M LOOKING FOR
A senior, lead or principal role where a complex domain is genuinely mine to own, on a team that expects its senior designers to mentor. To find the best approach for the user and the business with architects and PMs. To leave the process better than they found it.
TEAM
I push for consistency across the projects
I run research, and I start it
I prepare and participate in research on the topics I own. Initiate additional studies on my domains when I identify a gap in the team's understanding of user needs.
I initiated a cross-functional effort to unify inconsistent sections and use-case behaviours across the platform. Working with other design and product teams to establish shared UX patterns that hold beyond my own feature area.
